Armenian Genocide movie screened for foreign diplomats in LA

f59a3e1100d6fa 59a3e1100d739.thumbThe Promise, the 2017 historical drama featuring the Ottoman-era horrors of the Genocide, has been screened for foreign diplomats accredited to Los Angeles.


The event was organized at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) upon the initiative of the Armenian Consulate, the Foreign Ministry’s press service reports.

Apart from the diplomatic corps, it brought together also members of different international organizations, scholars, professors and representatives of the Promise Institute for Human Rights at the UCLA School of Law.

In her speech, Consul Amella Shakaryan highlighted Genocide recognition campaign pursued Armenia and the Diaspora, praising especially the US-Armenian community’s contribution. She also briefed the participants on Armenia’s consistent efforts towards the prevention of future crimes of genocide.
