Armenian figure skaters headed for World Championships in Japan

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Armenian national figure skating team has left for Japan to take part in the 2019 ISU Figure Skating World Championships in Saitama.

Single skaters Slavik Hayrapetyan and Anastasia Galustyan will represent the country in the important sports event in Japan.

Galustyan and Hayrapetyan will skate their short programs on March 20 and 21, respectively, the National Olympic Committee of Armenia reports.

Melanya Stepanyan, President of the Armenian figure skating federation, and Vice-President Ari Zakaryan have also traveled to Saitama.

Armenian culture paraded through São Paulo at Brazilian Carnival

PanARMENIAN.Net - The samba school "Rosas de Ouro"performed at the Anhembi Sambadrome during the São Paulo Carnival with an Armenian theme on Saturday, March 2, Agensia Prensa Armenia reports.

The Rosas de Ouro Society is a samba school that was founded in 1971.

The program was titled"Viva Hayastan" - Hayastan means Armenia in Armenian - and was divided into five sectors: Paradise, Armenian Heroes, Christianity, Culture and Armenian Square, according to Estação Armênia.

The front line made a reference to the Armenian Genocide.

The trucks represented different aspects of Armenian culture, such as the crane (bird), Mount Ararat, the Armenian fedayi, the Armenian deity of fertility and love, Astghik, the coat of arms of Armenia, it saints and apostles, the alphabet, the Armenian rugs and even references to Charles Aznavour.

On 18th of January the volunteers of Armenian Cultural Fund had the opportunity to present the Armenian history, its culture and food in Budapest. The event was organised in collaboration with MiraDoors intercultural community, which is a meeting point to learn about different cultures, meeting foreigners living in Hungary and of course organizing intercultural events and creative workshops.

Our Volunteers had couple of videos showing the beauty of Armenia, a presentation telling about the culture and history and after the given information they did a quiz for all the people being active and with the opportunity to get prizes.
